Travel Soccer

About

Travel soccer is for players interested in a higher level of commitment and competition.

Teams for the fall and spring are formed based upon tryouts in the preceding spring.

A commitment to travel soccer includes full participation in the fall season and we request participation in the spring season to keep the team going.

NYAA dual sport athletes are welcome.  Fall is the "primary" soccer season and players are expected to prioritize soccer in the fall.  Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse and other sport players are encouraged to continue with soccer in the spring as time permits.

NYAA has partnered with Perfect Touch Soccer, and teams may use professionally coached training sessions as part of their practice schedule if desired.

Location:

Travel teams practice and play home games at local fields.

Travel teams play in regional EPYSA sanctioned travel leagues such as LVYSL, ICSL, ROCK. Most teams are within an hour drive or closer.

Travel teams play in one or more regional weekend tournaments per season per team decision.

Travel teams often schedule winter trainings and will occasionally participate in local winter leagues such as Lou Ramos, LVHN, etc.

Costs:

Based on league registration fee's, referee fee's, NYAA fee's, trainer fee's, and tournament costs.  Fee's are assessed per season (separate fall and spring).

Additional fee's may be assessed and collected by NYAA or the coach to participate in additional activities or tournaments per team agreement.

An additional uniform fee is required for new teams or every 2 years for existing teams.

NYAA will be fielding the following travel teams for Fall of 2025 and Spring 2026:

  • 2014 Girls U12 : Tyahla :  ICSL U12
  • 2015 Girls U11 : Waltman : ICSL U11

Tryout General Info

Tryouts for the upcoming soccer year (Fall and Spring seasons) are held once in the spring.

NYAA Soccer will try and field as many competitive teams as we can based upon coach and player interest.

We encourage participation from all serious players.  A positive attitude towards soccer is the biggest requirement.  If your player has a passion for playing the game we encourage them to try out.

Tryouts are an open competition.  Players participating in the tryout process should understand that they may not be selected to a travel team.

Existing travel players may be offered a spot on a different team than they are currently on based on tryout numbers and results.

Players that are not offered a spot on a team are encouraged to continue their skill development in our Recreational program.

Offer letters are usually sent within 2 weeks of tryouts. Additional tryouts may be required prior to offer letters being extended.

Tryout Format:

Tryouts are run by Travel coaches or experienced volunteers under the general guidance of the Travel Coordinator.

Please arrive early.

Players should check in and get a number or numbered pinny when arriving.

Tryouts generally consist of:
