Spring Baseball

About Spring Baseball

In the spring season, the NYAA participates in the Central Whitehall League (CWL) as well as the Lehigh Valley League (LVL). The  CWL consists of a 12 game schedule with a playoff tournament at the end of the season. The LVL will have a 14-16 game schedule with playoffs following the regular season for teams with a 0.500 record or better. As the LVL is a more competitive league, prior to each spring season, the baseball director and coaches from each level determine what division will place teams in the LVL season. All rules shall be according to the current issue of National Federation of State High School Associations Rule Book, except as noted in the approved bylaws of the PYL or LVL. All players on the game day roster will bat in the CWL (LVL has specific rules for this). All players may not sit two (2) consecutive innings. The free substitution rule shall be in effect at most levels if utilized by the coach. Each inning will be either 3 outs or a maximum number of runs per inning as defined by the CWL and LVL rules.
